This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. If you had asked me a few months ago if I thought a graphic novel could break my heart, I would have said no. I’m not good at talking about art, but there’s a sparseness to it that fits the quiet nature of the stories perfectly. This book captures the lives of the characters, and the moments that make up those lives, more poignantly and effectively than anything else I’ve ever read.
I jeff the word, but yet I buy into it. Lester and all the men on these pages speak seldom and in terse phrases. This story involves Lou and Vince LaBeuf, hockey playing brothers from the farmlands who come to Toronto to play hockey. I will get back to you with some suggestions. The ending result was also sweet, bitter, and left unfinished but not in a bad way.

Jimmy plays a role in all three stories in the book, and in many ways is the heart of the story: Both of the ladies can come off as tough and hard-nosed, but they both use that to shield themselves from the harsh realities that life has presented them.
I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. To each person Essex means something different, and counyt all have their personal passions to hold on to when the world around them slips. One of her stops was Midtown comics, and as sweet as she was, asked me if I wanted anything.
