Knave’s Wager by Loretta Chase

Loretta Chase Author After a heroic attempt to be an English major forever, Loretta Chase stoically accepted her degree but kept on reading and writing. This book luckily falls in the latter category. And an excellent narrator for the characters. Will he be able to prove his heart to her before she learns of his recklessly shameless wager?

I couldn’t hate her but I was completely shocked out of my frayed but still present fuzziness. Some point out an absent grovel but I could see a transformation which even he himself was unaware of. Which in reality was pure discipline. I kept waiting for some grand explanation about her personality malfunction and there were several things mentioned that explains it, but they were never really developed enough to be interesting or make me really like her or feel for her.

I kept falling asleep throughout the entire book. Chase has written superior books to this one. He was spineless and dumb, and she had no pride.

Knave’s Wager

A fun regency romance! In order to save his cousin from entering into matrimony with his wageer, he enters into a wager to see if he can seduce the impenetrable Lilith.

Julian’s and Lilith’s relationship starts out slow but it continued to grow. The narrator is very good, but I have to mention that the production quality of this book is simply not up to the standards expected of a first-class author like Loretta Chase. Darius senses a crack under her polished surface – and finding it is a challenge he can’t resist.

Lorretta, stubborn Esme Brentmor, daughter of a disgraced lord, is used to a wild, dangerous life among the tribes of Albania, to whom her father is the legendary, controversial Red Lion whose death she’s courageously vowed to avenge – even if it leads to her own.

Extremely intriguing—especially after she gets her first look at the gorgeous lunatic. Even when helping out in a family circumstance, he agrees to do so as it only goes with his own plans.

For her, the trouble started when she learned to write in first grade. I decided to read the kindle book, rather than listening to an Audible download. I enjoyed this story and the narration was good; however the environment that it was recorded in was very poor. He finds society’s “perfect darlings” exceedingly boring. His saving grace is that he had a kind heart toward his cousin, Lord Robert. As well as working in academe, she had an enlightening if brief life in retail and a Dickensian six-month experienc If Julian can seduce the famously icy Lady Lilith Davenant, the lady will release his cousin from the engagement.

It was a curious circumstance that the loss of two passengers rendered the vehicle more confined than it had been, as though the masculine presence opposite Lilith possessed the power to expand to fill all available space.

She attended New England public schools, before she went off to college and earned an English degree from Clark University. It is the story of Julian, the Marquess of Brandon, an initially unlikeable hero who lives only for pleasure. She was a clever little minx, and while I think she could have done much better in a suitor, she was a fun character. Vapid rake makes a bet to bed a virtuous and uptight woman.

I read this last night in one go. And he, the highborn rascal, keeps knocking down her defenses, creating opportunities for them to meet cute and be together.

Between Cecily and Lilith, the ladies outclassed the gents. And though she’s been rescued by the very inebriated Max Demowery, Viscount Rand, she may be in even greater danger of falling in love with the shockingly outrageous, scandalously improper Viscount Vagabond! This is getting to be a bad habit, but once again, I would refer any potential reader to my friend Caz’s excellent review of the audio book.

Why did I ever read this book? So what about his knavs The characters were confusing to me.
